One of the biggest anxieties patients have about a smile makeover is not knowing what happens next. The process can feel opaque — especially if you are travelling from abroad and need to plan flights, accommodation, and time off work. This guide walks you through exactly what happens, week by week, when you have a smile makeover at ACE DNTL.
Before Week 1: The Remote Consultation. For international patients, the process begins remotely. You send us photographs of your smile — front, side, and close-up. We arrange a video consultation with Dr. Ace to discuss your goals, assess your case, and determine whether a smile makeover is the right approach. This conversation is honest and unhurried. If veneers are not the right solution, we tell you. If your expectations need calibrating, we have that conversation now — not after you have flown to Marbella.
Week 1, Days 1–2: Arrival and Digital Smile Design. You arrive in Marbella. On your first visit, we complete a comprehensive clinical examination, take high-resolution photographs and video for Digital Smile Design, and capture digital impressions. Using specialised software, we design your new smile tooth by tooth — calibrated to your facial proportions, lip dynamics, and personal preferences. You see the design, provide feedback, and approve it before any clinical work begins.
Week 1, Days 3–4: Preparation and Provisional Veneers. Once you have approved the digital design, we begin the clinical work. Teeth are prepared conservatively — removing only a fraction of a millimetre of enamel. Provisional veneers are placed immediately, giving you a preview of the final shape and proportions. You leave the clinic with a functional, attractive temporary smile and can eat, drink, and socialise normally.
Week 1–2, Days 5–10: Laboratory Crafting. While you enjoy Marbella, our in-house ceramists hand-layer your porcelain veneers. Each veneer is built individually — colour at multiple depths, genuine translucency at the incisal edge, surface texture that catches light naturally. This process takes several days of focused craftsmanship. It cannot be rushed — and we do not rush it.
Week 2, Days 8–10: Try-In and Final Bonding. Your final porcelain veneers are ready. We place them temporarily so you can see and feel the result before permanent bonding. You provide final feedback — if any adjustments are needed, they happen now. Once you are completely satisfied, the veneers are bonded permanently using precision adhesive techniques. The result is durable, stain-resistant, and alive.
The Reveal. This is the moment. You look in the mirror and see your new smile for the first time.
